New York-New York Hotel & Casino is a hotel and casino that is located in Paradise, Nevada. Situated on the Las Vegas Strip, the venue was officially opened for the public on January 3, 1997. Neal Gaskin does the architecture of the building in an NYC style. The venue features 2024 rooms and a total gaming space of 84,000 sq ft (7,800 m2). The hotel and casino are under the ownership of MGM Resorts International and operated by the same. The hotel and casino use the New York City influence of its name in many ways. The hotel includes many towers that are configured to resemble NYC buildings, including the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.
The main resort features lounges, restaurants, particular gambling areas, and meeting rooms named after NYC landmarks or neighborhoods. The main casino area is named Times Square. Some of the notable restaurants at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino include Gallagher’s Steak House, Nine Fine Irishmen, and Il Fornaio. The three signature attractions include Hershey’s Chocolate World and The Roller Coaster (formerly Manhattan Express). Special decks of playing cards are used at the casino that features a “heart” suit replaced by “apples,” about the city’s nickname Big Apple.
New York-New York Hotel & Casino is home to Zumanity, the third show from Cirque du Soleil. An ESPN Zone was in the hotel until June 2010, accessible from street level and within the casino. The restaurant was operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts’ Disney Regional Entertainment division.
