Gothic Theatre - Englewood CO
Benee
The Gothic Theatre is a music venue that was formerly a movie theater. It is located in Englewood, Colorado, and was constructed in the 1920s, and later in 1998, it was revitalized. The theatre is operated and owned by Steve Schalk. It has a seating capacity of 1,100; since the re-opening of the venue, it has been hosting a wide variety of events that ranges from local concerts, private events, and film showcases.
The Gothic Theatre quickly earned popularity as an entertainment destination among the locals. The distinguished art decoration and architecture of the theatre provided a scene of interest. At one point, the venue shut down due to financial problems; as such, two friends bought the theatre in 1998. Since then, those who visited the theatre claim that it is probably the best local music venue for size, sound, and light.
Many local, as well as international, bands have rocked the stage of the theatre. Some of the more noteworthy performers that have played at the venue are The Black Keys, Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Ministry, Rise Against, Phish, Lady Gaga, Pat Benatar, and Three Six Mafia.
