Ain't Misbehavin
Grand Rapids Civic Theatre is one of the oldest community theatres located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The venue was founded in 1925, and since, the theatre has grown into one of the largest community theatres in the nation. The facility consists of four historical buildings that are the Hull Building (1890), the Majestic Theatre (1903), the Wenham Building (1878), and the Botsford Building (1892).
Grand Rapids Civic Theatre is highly committed to enhancing the cultural life of West Michigan. The venue approaches its goal by creating opportunities for people to enjoy endless live theatre performances. The venue provides access to comprehensive theatre arts education programs that are meant for all age groups.
The facility underwent a major renovation in 2006, led and managed by Grand Action. About 10 million dollars were invested in the buildings. Every year, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre creates over a dozen productions along with 15,000+ hours of educational instruction. These notable programs are successfully created with the help of over 700 volunteers who work under the leadership of nine professional staff and 30 guest artists.
