Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City is a venue located in Sioux City, Iowa. The site opened for the public on August 1, 2014, after the proposal for this venue was announced in October 2012. It was developed by Warner Gaming, who is also the operator of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The whole project cost approximately $100 million. The plan was modified when the operators decided to include a boutique hotel component. There is a total of 45,000 square feet of space available for gaming. Anthem Battery Park is one of the signature attractions of the venue.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's opening went through a few controversies from the now-defunct Argosy Casino Sioux City. Their license was revoked by the Iowa Racing & Gaming commission shortly after opening. The venue was one of the four submitted for the only available casino license in Woodbury County. Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission selected the Hard Rock proposal over other applicants in 2014.
The gaming floor at Hard Rock Sioux City consists of more than 850 slot machines and 25 table games. The hotel itself has 54 rooms, and it is included in the historic Battery Building. Three restaurants are available inside the venue, including Fuel American Grill, Main + Abbey, and the World Tour Buffet. In August 2019, sports betting was legalized where Hard Rock began to accept bets on September 20, 2019.
